Modern Male: Making a Difference
Modern Male, a men’s grooming lounge that opened in Dublin OH 11 years ago, has always boasted “There is a Difference”. During their tenure Modern Male has been committed to helping men look and feel their best. It is nearly impossible to leave Modern Male without feeling refreshed and refined. Owner Brenda Kocak has been involved with the Look Good, Feel Better program sponsored by the American Cancer Society during her career. It was through watching family members suffer with the various stages of cancer that Ms Kocak became committed to utilizing her profession to assist in the care for victims of this dreadful disease.Modern Male has been a supporter of Pelotonia since its inception due to the long term commitment to cancer victims of Kocak and participation of one of her staff members Lisa Schneider. Lisa’s father is a cancer survivor and she has been fighting for a cure through her participation with Pelotonia, marathons and half iron man competitions. Modern Male is also a supporter of the Movember Movement to raise awareness and support to fight prostate cancer by sponsoring a team and building awareness through social media.The latest effort in Making a Difference has been transforming a long time client who grew his hair out to make a donation to Locks for Love. Mike Flowers, grew up being coiffed by the stylists at Modern Male. Mike recently spent 2 years abroad on a project and during that time two of his family members fell victim to cancer. He decided to grow out his hair and recently returned to his hometown of Dublin Ohio. He called Modern Male for assistance in cutting his locks to donate to a program that transforms human hair into wigs for chemotherapy patients. Modern Male welcomed Mike and his family not only to remove the length of his hair but to provide him with a cut and style worthwhile of his generous nature.Modern Male’s vision has been to help men look and feel their best in many ways.
